  • Mark your calendar

  • Seller Check-In date and time

  • Volunteer date and time

  • Preview Sale shopping date and time.  Please do not bring children to the Preview Sale.  Your ticket admits one person to the Presale. If you are unable to attend the Presale, you may give your ticket to a friend!

  • Begin collecting your sale items.  Plan on bringing more than your minimum number of items to ensure a Preview Sale Ticket.  Buyers and Sellers appreciate strict high standards.

In order to continue our reputation of offering only the highest quality goods, we DEPEND on you, the seller, to screen your items appropriately.  As you critique your goods for sale, ask yourself the following questions:

a. Are my items in excellent condition free from stains, holes, missing buttons/snaps?

Stain Removal Tips:   http://fabriclink.com/fabricstains/home.html

I have discovered that Powdered Clorox 2 made into a paste, applied to a spot, and let soak for awhile will get out almost anything except rust or paint.  Be careful though, I have ruined a few things.

b. Are my items clean, fresh smelling, pressed (or maybe just tossed in the dryer with a dampened washcloth), and currently in style for the appropriate sale season (Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter)?

c.  Are my toys and equipment clean?  Do all my toys and equipment work and have batteries that show they work?  If the batteries are dead, please put in batteries that show the toy works.  Suggestions: Put in an older set of batteries or buy cheap batteries at the $1 Store (4 AA batteries cost $1).

d.  Is my car seat less than 5 years old?

e.  Is this fad item still popular-Pokemon, Beanie Babies etc.?

f.  LEARN TO LET GO…

We all have those outfits and toys that take us down memory lane.  Keep a few of these items for your grandkids and consign the rest!  Give someone else the opportunity to make a memory from it.  Cleaning out closets, season by season, is the way to de-clutter and be better organized!

TAGGING INSTRUCTIONS
(Printer Friendly Version)

  1. GARMENT PREPARATION

a.   Hang all garments on appropriate sized hangers with the hook facing left.  Hanger sources: Wal-Mart, K-Mart (as a customer, some will give you hangers for free) I know that $15.00 for 150 hangers sounds like a lot, however 150 items at $3.00 - $4.00 each is $600.00! Use appropriate size hangers for clothes.  Bigger clothes need bigger hangers.

b.   Button all buttons, snap all snaps, tie all bows, zip all zippers.  This decreases time spent at check-in and increases shopping ease because one can easily see that garment is intact.

c.    Try to use regular size safety pins to attach items to the hanger, tiny gold safety pins don't seem to work as well.  NO STRAIGHT PINS!!!

Matching accessories:  Safety pin these items to the outfit

Shirts:  Safety pin hanger at shoulders, if necessary.

Pants/skirts:  Safety pin to hanger at waistband.

Two-piece outfits:  Put shirt on the hanger.  Pin pants/skirt waistband to the shoulders of the shirt with garments pinned back-to-back.  Pants/skirt are behind the shirt.

Linens:  Package in clear bags optimal viewing and selling.

Shoes:  Pin together, tie laces, buckle, zip-tie through lace holes, or Ziploc baggies for the smaller ones.  Just make sure they will stay securely together.

Small items: such as socks, hair bows, or anything that you are having trouble attaching a tag to can be put in Ziploc bags.  Attach tags to the outside with clear packing tape.

  1. TOY/GAME PREPARATION

a.      Clean, clean, clean!

b.      Package small pieces, directions, and puzzle pieces in a clear, sealed bag.  Tape the bag to the toy with clear, packing tape or inside a compartment if available. Wood puzzles sometimes work better when wrapped in Saran Wrap to hold them together.  Try to  make your items as secure and viewable as possible.

  1. TAGGING ITEMS

- Already have a seller number click here to get a Sales Tag Template

- Don't have a seller number, click here to fill out our Seller Form

TAGS:  can be printed by clicking on the Sales Tags button.  You MUST PRINT seller number, price and 'R' or 'NR'.  You can ONLY hand-write size and description.  Use any white or light color paper that will make a legible barcode.  Be sure to print your tag with "NR" for items you  do not want to go half off!

SIZE:  For Children's clothing, use number sizes only, no weight or S/M/L. example 3T,  6X, or 8 slim.  For Maternity clothing, please use SM, MED, LG or XL.

ITEM DESCRIPTION:  Details here help sell an item.  Mention the brand name, # of times worn (new, worn once, barely worn) if applicable, and a brief description.  This helps discourage theft and tag switching.  We can also match lost items with loose tags.

  1. PRICE

I have devoted a section entirely to this topic as it is one of the most important aspects of the sale.  The only way for you to make money is to get your items from the rack to the register.

I suggest the following:

  1. Price in 50 cent increments; i.e. $3.50, $8, $6.50. (This makes check-out faster, especially during the half off sale.)

  2. Please do not price anything less than fifty cents.

  3. Price items as if YOU were going to buy them. Ask yourself, "Would I pay this amount for the item?"

  4. Price items to sell before the 50% discount since most purchases are made prior to the discount times.

  5. Price should be 20% - 40% of retail, not to exceed 50% retail and less if you are more eager to sell.
    Exception!
Little Tykes, double strollers, and other large items sell for up to 2/3 of retail price.

  6. Price only on the first tag of a multiple-tagged item.

  7. REMEMBER to print your tags with "NR" (Not Reduced) after the price, if you do not want your item to go 50% off on Saturday.

Sources of retail pricing information include catalogs, flyers, and the following websites:

Amazon.com - www.amazon.com
Fisher Price - www.fisherprice.com
Little Tykes - www.littletykes.com
Toys R Us - www.toysrus.com
Wal-Mart - www.walmart.com

  1. WHERE DO I PUT THE TAG?

**In clear view so the purchaser can see it**

Safety pin to the front of the item on the right side of the garment as you look at the garment.    Use clear packing or masking tape to attach tags to items that can’t be attached with safety pins.  Be sure the tag is secure enough to withstand rigorous shopping.  If a tag falls off, we can’t sell your item.

  1. SORT CLOTHES BY SIZE & GENDER - You won't have time to sort clothes at your Check-In appointment.

  2. SELLER CHECK-IN - Allow up to 30 minutes for appointment.

    • Have all clothes sorted by size and gender.

    • Bring items to the sale location.

    • Get Your Preview Sale ticket.

  3. Shop the Preview Sale.

  4. PICK UP OF UNSOLD ITEMS  - Sunday,  from  2:30 PM - 3:00 PM ONLY

    • Allow 15 to 20 minutes for a quick inspection of your items.  Also, be sure you have only items with your seller # on them and not another sellers items.

    • Check Lost & Found box for any of your items.

NO PICK UP OF UNSOLD ITEMS  If you donate all unsold items to charity, there is no need to come to the Sunday pick-up time.
